People and Environmental Protection Come First

Katapult, a legendary Czech band, released their second studio album in 1980. It contains one of Katapult's greatest hits, "Až" ("When"), in which the band looks into the "distant future" of the year 2006: Until today, Oldřich Říha sings that "…we will have factories for trees, artificial grass in front of the houses, prosperity will prevail in the world and we will be able to manufacture almost anything." And then there goes the main line that has become generally popular: "What about the children? Do they have a place to play?"

UNEX invests in robotics, automation and increasing productivity

The engineering-metallurgical company UNEX has had yet another successful year in which turnover amounted to approximately 3.12 billion crowns. In the past three years, the company succeeded in increasing its turnover by 30 percent. This year's plan anticipates further growth, with expected turnover to reach almost 3.4 billion crowns.

Charity punch with UNEX raises nearly CZK 50,000

‘Three Brothers’ and a total of eight young ladies wrapped in many layers of clothing, including scarves and caps in corporate yellow – this was the foundation for the success of the Olomouc Christmas punch event with UNEX, during which the stand for the organisation Dobré misto pro život (A Good Place for Life) collected CZK 48,105. The proceeds will be sent to the account of the Olomouc branch of the Czech Unified Organisation of the Blind and Visually-Impaired (SONS).

Olomouc foundry significantly reduces time for prototype production thanks to 3D printing

The Olomouc foundry specialises on cast iron castings up to 6.5 kg produced in larger batches, designed primarily for car, truck and bus manufacturers, construction equipment and air-conditioning units. With increasing customer requirements for reducing delivery times, the normal prototype production time has proven too long and has had to be reduced significantly. Traditional procedures do not permit any acceleration, so we had to find a brand new solution.

UNEX laboratory successfully passes accreditation audit

The long-term high quality standard of our products is supervised, among others, by the UNEX test laboratory, which has recently successfully passed an audit by the accreditation company ČIA Brno and has received a certificate of qualification for accredited testing in accordance with the standard ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005.

UNEX Employees to Head to Southern Slovakia for the Holidays

For several years already, UNEX employees have had the opportunity to visit the local thermal park for recreational or therapeutic stays over holidays as well as throughout the year. The water has a positive effect on joint disorders, diseases of the spine and muscles, and has an overall positive effect on the regeneration of the entire body. The nearby 100-hectare oak forest park is an inviting place for a walk, run, or other activities, and is a unique vestige of the expansive forest that unfolded across the entire Danube lowlands centuries ago.

The UNEX Run charity running project

For the second time, UNEX employees have run for a good cause − the goals of the UNEX Run charity running project do not just include doing something positive for one's own health, but also to financially support a selected charity activity. This year, our runners decided to donate to the activities of the Šance Olomouc association at the Department of Paediatrics of the Medical Faculty Hospital of Olomouc, which helps children suffering from oncological and haematological diseases.
