A Successful Presentation in Stuttgart

The first CastForge trade show at the exhibition grounds in the West German city of Stuttgart attracted 3,700 professionals who had the opportunity to view the products and services of 153 exhibitors from 18 countries. UNEX was also among the participants of the trade show premières, focusing on castings, forgings, and machining thereof.

A year later, UNEX again exhibited at Hannover Messe

This year's Hannover Messe industrial fair again confirmed that it is the most important industrial event of its kind in the world. A total of 210,000 guest visited the expo over five days, a third of which came to Germany from abroad. A total of 5,800 firms from 75 states, including the Czech Republic, presented their products and services. The UNEX presentation was part of the joint booth of Czech companies under the CzechTrade agency.

2018 Open House

The traditional May Day event also attracted thousands of visitors this year to tour the Uničov factory and enjoy the accompanying programme. The gates opened to visitors at 9 a.m., but as early as 6 a.m. a group of photographers headed by the internationally-recognised photographer Professor Jindřich Štreit was preparing a photography exhibit in the foundry. Uničov torpedo heads to the birthplace of the top steel production method

Voestalpine Stahl Donawitz GmbH, which is one of the 500 companies of the global Austrian Voestalpine group, ordered from companies CEC-Cranes and UNEX the design and production of a special 20-axle vehicle intended for the transport of pig iron. Similar vehicles are nicknamed "torpedoes" worldwide.

UNEX plans a turnover of more than 3 billion crowns this year

The engineering-metallurgical company UNEX has another successful year behind it, in which its turnover was about 2.9 billion. Already for the second year in a row, UNEX has recorded a year-on-year turnover increase of approx. 400 million crowns and the same figure is planned for this year: in 2018, the turnover should be increased to 3.2 up to 3.3 billion crowns.

UNEX has modernized the large mining equipment KU 800 in the Sokolov Region

After a complete overhaul and modernization, the engineering-metallurgical company UNEX passed the large-scale equipment KU 800/12 back into operation; this equipment is running in the Jiri Brown Coal Quarry in Vintirov, in the Sokolov Region. Using this large-scale machine, the mining company Sokolovská uhelná excavates here around 6,5 million tonnes of coal every year. The repair took 235 thousands of hours of labour within 14 months.

A Sporting Autumn at UNEX

One Friday of each September is now traditionally set aside for the UNEX CUP, a company five-a-side football tournament. The eighth annual tournament took place on 15 September this year, this time hosted by Sportovní klub Paseka. Organisational support, once again in keeping with tradition, was shared between UNEX a.s. and members of company trade unions.
