Putting emphasis on continuous reduction of negative impacts of our operations on environment forms an integral part of the corporate Quality Policy of UNEX. Its key aspects include:

  • Reduce the risks of water, air and land pollution by possible leak of pollutants.
  • Efficiently use all types of energy.
  • Reduce the risk of environmental harm by consistent waste recycling.
  • Create safe working conditions not dangerous for health.

By adhering to the aforementioned environmental principles we strive to leave the minimum possible environmental trace of our activities.

In 2014, authorised measurements of emissions of selected air pollution sources were performed. The emission limits for pollutants were observed, and in comparison with 2013, production of certain pollutants released into air (solid pollutants, SO2, NOx) was reduced as well.

In regard to waste disposing we strive to achieve more consistent sorting of the selected household waste elements. Thanks to the aforementioned, in 2014 we managed to sort out for 4% more plastic packaging materials than in the previous year. At the same time we arranged for ecological disposal of about 386 kg of fluorescent tubes and lamps via EKOLAMP collective system; these products may endanger both environment and human health if handled improperly, due to mercury contained in them.

Water protection is another integral part of environmental protection. Our company runs a biological waste water treatment plant, from which the waste water is discharged to Oskava river. Samples of the water are taken every month to check the water quality. The analyses show that our company meets all criteria set out in the decision issued by the respective authority.
