On Thursday, 13 October 2016, our employees joined the nationwide call entitled “Hands On Your Breasts and Run Out Of The Office - Give Your Balls Some Fresh Air!” The aim of the project is to involve 10,000 corporate runners from all over the Czech Republic thus breaking through certain barriers in combating cancer, an initiative led by the Ruce na prsa (Hands on the Breasts) and STK pro chlapy (Vehicle Inspection Facility for Men) foundation, which consists in meaningful prevention and an awareness raising campaign.
We are glad that our employees are not indifferent to cancer prevention and taking care of their own health and the health of their loved ones, since the challenge was accepted by 125 of them. In addition to taking part in an awareness raising lecture, during which Petr Koukal (Olympian in badminton) shared his story and experience, and was joined by Michaela Tůmová from the Hands on the Breasts Foundation who delivered an instruction on breast and testicular self-examination, those present took part in a charity run. Depending on their health and fitness, they could choose between a 3-km and a 5-km course. Whoever started the race automatically donated CZK 200 or more to the aforementioned foundations. Thanks to the high turnout, an amount of CZK 25,000 was raised among our employees. UNEX then increased it by another CZK 25,000 to the total of CZK 50,000 to be split in equal parts between the two foundations.
We would like to thank our employees and the foundations - namely to Petr Koukal and Michaela Tůmová - for the lecture and the instruction which, despite the fact that they concerned a grave matter, were delivered with ease and wit, and also to the Kasty people, who helped us with the overall organisation.
