In the first half of this year, the metallurgical and engineering group UNEX recorded the year-on-year gross wages at its production plants in Uničov-Brníčko and in Olomouc increased by 11%.
The collective agreement, signed by the union representatives in February, guaranteed a total increase of wages and other wage benefits by 8%. However, thanks to performance remuneration, the employees may earn much more. The best employees-workers may find their "gross wage" exceeding CZK 40,000 recorded in their wage slips. UNEX currently employs 1,516 members of its skeleton staff at its production plants in Uničov and Olomouc.
"Some of the most remunerated UNEX professions are, for instance, metal welders, horizontal workers, fitters, operating electricians, NC programmers and technologists. Although their gross wage often exceeds CZK 30,000, at the same time, these are the professions for which we have vacancies on a long-term basis," says Hana Bartošová, HR manager of UNEX.
According to the Czech Statistical Office, the average wage in Olomouc region amounted to CZK 24,037 in the first quarter of this year.
"The average gross monthly wage of our fitters, moulders or melters is above the average regional wage, the best ones earn even CZK 10,000 more than that, however, on a long-term basis the number of qualified employees of these profession is still low," adds Hana Bartošová
UNEX offers a large number of vacancies also to crane operators, blacksmiths and operating fitters.
Part-time jobs not only for students
UNEX has prepared several vacancies mainly for students who have come of age and are looking for a summer/long-term job, but also for other applicants. These vacancies concern production plants in Olomouc and Uničov and they are suitable even for candidates without any work experience in the field.
Study programme
UNEX offers a series of excursions accompanied by commentary for technically-oriented secondary schools or universities; it provides individual candidates with work experience or internship under the supervision of experienced workers - mentors who share their experience with the next generation. Students may use our benefits, such as meals with special prices, transport allowance, the scholarship programme and so on.
For students of the final years of university, who aim for education beyond the scope of a regular study programme, who want to put their theoretical knowledge into practice, get to know the complex operation of a large organisation and its internal processes, join a team and, at the same time, find an area where they could make use of their skills, there is a special trainee programme.
